"We have completely re-created drawerlight and come up with a solution that is both simpler and better than all other drawer-light on the market."

The goal

One of the places in the kitchen where it has been notoriously difficult to integrate light has been in the drawers. Traditionel lighting solutions for kitchen drawers are space consuming and inflexible. As a consequence, every size of drawer is dependent on its own unique light brace in order to get light into the drawer.

New drawer types are also becoming increasingly smaller which has made it even more difficult to retrofit light.

Due to this, the goal was to create a small, compact and universal lighting solution which could fit in all drawers no matter the size.

The solution

Here at Loevschall A/S co-creation is a two-way proces where both parts have something to contribute with in order to develop new solutions. At Loevschall A/S we have a huge knowledge about light and we are experts in making integrated lighting solutions in the markets best quality. We know how to make a good quality and we have the capacity to challenge the existing solutions.

In the development of a new drawer light, Nobia AB’s knowledge about drawers, kitchen drawers, trends, future drawer systems and the consumers preference was a necessity in the development of the new solution and its future success at the end-consumer.

The co-creation process between Loevschall A/S and Nobia AB was therefore depending on knowledge sharing across departments and time was spent on brain storming, the development of ptototypes and to maintain a close communication through out the whole project period.

"The end-result is spot on and is now our standard light for drawers. We really value the cooperation we have with Loevschall A/S and it is clear that with the drawerlight we have helped each other to think out of the box."

The result

The final product which is now on the market uses fewer and simpler components than seen in traditional solutions. It automatically turns on when a drawer is opened and uses lense technology to create evenly distributed light in the drawer.
